Graduate Trainee Programme (GTP)
IHS runs a Graduate Trainee Programme (GTP) to actively integrate the company’s sustainability philosophy with its organisational strategy. Over the years, the GTP has attracted the brightest STEM graduates from Zimbabwe’s top universities who have been integral to IHS’ innovation trajectory. Other than doing our part to be socially responsible in a country with alarmingly high graduate unemployment rates; it is important that we are able to offer young Zimbabwean STEM graduates access to work experience to proffer opportunities for growth in the country, and beyond its borders.

Graduate trainees are appointed to paid positions for two years. In the first year, the graduate is afforded the opportunity to test their theoretical knowledge through hands on experience in manufacturing and distribution under the mentorship of their line leader. In the second year, graduates are expected to develop products, processes, or projects for the purposes of implementation in the company. This work is reviewed by the company directors which are relevant to sharpening the delivery of the company. Over the years, graduate trainees that have stayed at IHS have grown within the company to become General Managers and Manufacturing Managers. Others have taken the experience gained and gone on to work for other companies in the country and abroad.
